This week will see the 200th anniversary of a lifeboat in Dunbar. I hope many local people will join in the celebrations. I will be there.
I wish to give tribute to the current and past lifeboat crews over the last two centuries.
2008 saw a great challenge with the loss of Sir Ronald Pechell BT, a lifeboat on which I was privileged to have a ride. Thankfully its wrecking at Easter saw no loss of life. The delivery of John Neville Taylor saw a new era begin.
I wish the current and future lifeboat crews all the best for the years ahead.
