Dunbar Branch members Cllr Jacquie Bell and Ettie Spencer attended the Federal Liberal Democrat Conference in Bournemouth recently.

Both Jacquie and Ettie spoke in the Women's Policy debate - Real Women. Jacquie noted the issues for carers - where most carers are women between 45-60. Pensions, income and work /life balance may be affected. Ettie spoke on the peer and media pressure on young teenagers . Ettie also spoke in a debate on the natural environment.

Both were also active at Fringe meetings. Jacquie attended a meeting on services for people with dementia where she was able to meet author Terry Pratchett who has been doing much to promote the difficulties faced by those with Alzheimer's and their carers following his own diagnosis.
