This ward was created in 2007 as a result of the change in voting system for local authorities to multi-member STV wards.
This ward comprises these towns and villages: Dunbar, East Linton, Tyninghame, Traprain, Stenton, Spott, West Barns, Innerwick, Oldhamstocks.
Three people are elected in this ward. One Scottish Liberal Democrat was elected: Jacquie Bell who is now Cabinet member for Health and Social Care.

Jacquie Bell was born in Sheffield and graduated from the University College of North Wales with a B.A. (Hons) in Social Theory and Institutions (Social Administration). She also has a Diploma in Social Work from Edinburgh University and a certificate in Practice Teaching.
Jacquie has almost 30 years experience of a wide range of social services including work as an instructor to the mentally ill in Sheffield and as a Mental Handicap Resource Worker/Community Care Social Worker for Lothian Region and Midlothian Council. She has also been involved with the Lothian Victim Support Scheme and is presently employed as a social worker in Liberton Hospital in Edinburgh.
Jacquie is married and lives with her husband in Dunbar. She has one son who is currently serving in the RAF.
15 years of local campaigning saw me elected as one of the 3 councillors for Dunbar and East Linton ward in 2007. Since that time I have been working as a member of the Administration to deliver change for the area. As I do my work I am acutely aware of neglect by the previous Administration - roads, flood defences, the A1, planning permissions given without consideration of local infrastructure, facilities at the beaches, school repairs.
In response the new Administration is delivering - a new Dunbar primary school, a new community facility for Dunbar, investment in roads repairs in both the towns and rural areas, investment in beach facilities, flood protection at West Barns, safety measures on the A1.
We are being more open with local people - decisions now involve public consultation on ideas rather than residents finding that decisions have been made on the pages the local media.
I am also involved with the party at Scottish and UK level. I have recently been involved in party policy on Excess packaging, special needs education and Post Office closures.
I am here to help you. I hold local surgeries that are advertised in the press, and do not hesistate to contact me directly at jbell@eastlothian.gov.uk and 07772 383564 if i can be of any assistance.
