This ward was created in 2007 as a result of the change in voting system for local authorities to multi-member STV wards.
This ward comprises these parts of Musselburgh: Newhailes, Fisherrow, Stoneybank, Old Craighall.
Three people are elected in this ward. One Scottish Liberal Democrat was elected: Barry Turner who is now Cabinet member for Environment.

Barry Turner, formerly Environment and Planning Convenor, was born in London and lived in the south east of England until 2000 when he moved to Scotland. He is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and Chartered Town Planner and enjoyed a career in local government planning, retiring as Head of Planning for Barnet Council in 1995. He subsequently worked part time for the Westminster Government as Panel Chairman for Examinations in Public for Structure and Regional Plans.
Barry is a widower with three grown up children and lives in Musselburgh.
