Council planners will be available in the first week of June to answer questions from the public about a plan for improvements to Haddington town centre and ideas about future retail provision in the town. Visitors can drop into the exhibition Haddington Town Centre Strategy and Retail Review at 18 Court Street on the following dates to chat to planners: •Monday 1, Tuesday 2 and Thursday 4 June, 10am to 5:30pm •Wednesday 3 June, 10am to 7.30pm •Friday 5 June, 10am to 4pm There will also be a public workshop on Saturday 6 June from 10am to 12.30 at the Town House, Haddington to discuss a proposed strategy for Haddington town centre and the Haddington Retail Review. Disabled access is available. The exhibition and workshop are part of a continuing consultation period that runs until 26 June. It is based on the Haddington Town Centre Strategy and the Haddington Retail Review Discussion Paper. These two papers highlight topics and raises questions about what improvements might be made to the centre and its shopping provision and will inform Council's assessment of major planning applications from supermarket companies Tesco and Sainsbury. Free copies of the discussion paper and a summary of the draft town centre strategy are available during normal opening hours, from the Environment Reception in John Muir House, Haddington, Haddington Library, Newton Port, and from the Council's web site on the following pages. •The draft Town Centre Strategy for Haddington •The Haddington Retail Review The papers, and further information, can also be obtained by phoning the Environment Department's Policies & Projects Team on 01620 827397 or 7958 or by asking at Environment Reception to speak to someone about it.
